Driver Education
The Driver Education Program will provide instruction for new drivers in basic driving skills, rules of the road and defensive driving skills. There are two components Classroom and Driving skills. All classroom sessions are two hours and held on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays either after school or during the evening. Due to change in state law, new protocols have been set for the Driver Education Program and now depend on when the student obtains his/her driving permit. Students must now be 15.9 years old in order to attend the classes. Parents will now be required to attend a mandatory, two hour class. Driving requirements have also changed for any student who will get their driver's permit after 9/01/07; students will be required to drive an additional 6 hours more than the previous requirement for a total of 12 driving hours and 6 hours of observation. Students who have received their driver's permit prior to 9/01/07 will remain with the prior requirements of 6 hours driving and 6 hours observation. 30 hours of classroom time remains the same for both. Please call Cam's at (781)894-1086 or our office at (508) 647-6632 for further information. Driving appointments may be scheduled for Sunday through Saturday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Driving appointments and cancellations are accepted Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM by calling Cam's Auto School, Inc. at 1-888-894-1086.
