Academic Decathlon
Dr. Richard Geckle, B669 *Students compete against other schools in various academic disciplines, including math, music, economics, art, science, and literature. The team must be composed of students with a range of grade point averages. Meeting times TBA.
Art Club
Mrs. Sheila Curran, N302 *Open to all students, the Art Club meets two Tuesday afternoons a month in Room N302 at 2:30pm. Students work on a variety of art activities including murals, contests, art jobs and fundraising projects.

Campuses Against Cancer (CAC)

Ms. Jill Conroy, S208 *Campuses Against Cancer is a student organization which focuses on raising funds to support cancer research. The group's goal is also to raise student awareness of cancer-related issues and educate students about the impact of cancer on families and individuals. Meetings are on Thursdays at 2:30 in A172.
Chamber Singers Mrs. Claudia Hopewell, M73 *Chamber Singers is an auditioned group of female singers in grades 10-12. Meetings are on Monday evenings.
Chess Club
Mr. Andrew Hollins, S262 *Join us for chess on Wednesdays in a fun, social environment! Meetings are every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30 pm in S262. Everyone from beginners to grandmasters is invited to attend! We play exciting games such as Bughouse and speed chess, and will be competing in some tournaments as well!

Kerryn O'Sullivan, Wellness Teacher *Students, Faculty, and Staff are welcomed to work out in the Fitness Center using cardiovascular and weight equipment. The Fitness Center will be open Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm. It will also be open during various periods throughout the day. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to take advantage of this outstanding facility. See Mr. Mei or one of his staff for a personalized exercise program.

French Club
Ms. Michael Jane Buss, B658 *Students will have the opportunity to encounter and explore Francophone culture with a variety of activities and experiences. All are invited to participate.
Visits from the French lycee: 4 French students will arrive at NHS, stay with families and attend classes from Oct. 24 to Nov. 6, 2009. NHS students will travel to France as exchange students during the February vacation from Feb. 12-Feb. 21. The first French Club meeting is Sept. 23, 2009 at 2:30 in B658.
Gay/Straight Alliance

Ms. Beth Grady, Locker Room Office *Meets every Tuesday from 2:30-3:30pm in Room A163. This gay/straight alliance works to promote diversity and tolerance in our schools. We go on field trips to conferences, movies, other area G.S.A.s, etc. We provide resources and materials to the school that promote diversity. Our students have discussions, work on projects, and just hang-out in a non-judgmental atmosphere. EVERYONE is welcome!

Mr. Dave Casey, Pres. Natick Kiwanis *The NHS Key Club is a service leadership organization for high school students. Its purpose is to develop initiative, leadership ability and good citizenship. Key Club offers leadership opportunities and provides service to the school and community. Our chapter is sponsored by the Natick Kiwanis Club. Meetings will be held after school with occasional evening meetings and activities. (schedule to be determined).

Model United Nations
TBA *The Model UN club simulates the United Nations organization by discussing topics of global importance. Students participate in competitions during which they create proposals to address some of the world's most pressing issues.
National Honor Society

SADD
Students Against Destructive Decisions

Kerryn O'Sullivan, PE Department *The NHS Chapter of Students Against Destructive Decisions is a member of the Massachusetts and National SADD organizations. The focus of this student run organization is to develop programs that help students avoid harmful behaviors such as driving under the influence, speeding and not using seatbelts. SADD works closely with Mother's Against Drunk Driving to change laws and to educate the public concerning the use of alcohol and other drugs. Natick High SADD members perform several seatbelt usage checks annually. Massachusetts SADD and the Governor's Highway Safety Bureau use our high school seatbelt usage statistics to determine the effectiveness of our and their seatbelt campaigns. Recent SADD programs and activities include Reduce the Use Night, Seatbelt Usage Surveys, the Sticker Shock Campaign, the Unity Project, and the SADD Prom Fashion Show.
Sailing Team
Mr. Joel Bradford, S209 *The Sailing Team competes in the spring at Community Boating in Boston. Practices are on Dug Pond on our fleet of Larks, 420's and Sunfish. New sailors are welcome in the fall, and experienced sailors can hone their racing skills in the spring. Tryouts for varsity are in October and April. Want to compete but don't like to run? Sailing may be the sport for you.
Science Club
Mrs. Kathi Browne, S223 *The club's main goal is to give students a chance to practice and prepare for competition in the regional science bowls, the science Olympiad and the Women in Science Competition. We hope it will also be a fun experience where students can work on their own projects. Meeting dates and times will be determined by the group. We generally meet after school, twice a month.
Scrabble Club
Ms. Angela Martino, S258 *Students come to play scrabble with each other on Wednesdays @ 2:30. It's a lot of fun! We are looking at a possible competition this year with other schools either in the fall or in spring.
Set Crew/Lighting / Lighting Designer
Mr. Ben Rogers / Ms. Nicole Harris *Students work alongside the cast and production team of the annual fall musical and learn about lighting, building and producing a full-length musical play.
Spanish Club
Ms. Erin Coffey, B656 *Spanish Club is an opportunity for students to learn about the various cultures that speak Spanish by discussing prominent holidays, preparing authentic cuisine and engaging in cultural activities. In addition, students will be able to speak Spanish while playing games and discussing cultural topics.

Mrs. Tara McDonald, Library *Meets the last Wednesday of every month in the Library at 2:30 to discuss the selected book of the month. Many English teachers give extra credit for participation. First meeting will be in October.
STYLE
Mrs. Claudia Hopewell, M73 *STYLE is a non-auditioned men's vocal group. It meets twice a week after school and is open to male students in grades 9-12.
TV/Video News Magazine Show
Ms. Marjorie Roberson, A106 *Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 or arranged by members of the club. Students learn more about video production, exploring aspects that interest them. They will also video tape and/or report on important events at Natick High. No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn about video/television production. Students will decide on story lines, and work in teams to get video footage and edit video into a final product.

Mrs. Joanne Maurer, A166 *Showcases poetry, fiction, non-fiction, fanfic and artwork created by the Natick High community. Submissions are accepted during the first semester. Students are also needed second semester to typeset and design the layout of the book.
Writers Club

Students gather to read and critique one another's creative writing, and to offer support in a casual and friendly atmosphere. Many polished pieces are often submitted for publication in The Writers' Bloc.
