After School Hours
The library is open after school Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 unless there is a special meeting going on in the library. Students should sign up before the end of the day using the form on the circulation counter if they plan to use the library after school. They should have a pass from a teacher explaining the work that they will be doing in the library.

Computer Lab

The library supports 20 Apple desktops  for use in teaching research, technology and web 2.0 skills. Teachers and students use the computers for class work, homework and for internet research.

Policies
Students may check out two books at a time if they returned their last book by its due date. Students wanting more than two books should check with the librarian and if they have shown responsible library behavior in the past, then more privileges will be given as needed and requested. Reference books may be checked out for one day. Students must pay for lost or damaged books. Students with overdue books may not check out new books until they have returned or renewed their late books or paid for them if lost. Books can be renewed as long as there is nobody on a waiting list for the book.

About the Library Staff
Mrs Bloom is the librarian at Wilson Middle School. She has an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in Business Administration, and a Masters in Library Science from Simmons College.  She has volunteered in both public and school libraries for over 18 years, and before coming to Wilson Middle School, she was teaching in the Westford school system, and then Lexington.  She has both technology and research interests and a passion for reading!

Ms Holihan is our Library Assistant.  Some of our students may recognize her from her years volunteering at Lilja with Ms Moss in the library.  Ms Holihan has had experience working with our automated library system, is skilled in computer technology, loves working with students and most importantly loves helping students find that just right book!
