Assistant Superintendent Finalists Announced

Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning & Innovation Candidate Forum

Parents, staff and community members are invited to meet our three finalists for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation. Each finalist will take questions from the audience for 30 minutes. Audience members will be encouraged to provide written feedback to the Superintendent at the end of the evening.
Jenny Chan-Remka Jenny currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of the Woonsocket (RI) Education Department, a position she has held since 2015. Previously, she was Principal of the Bain Middle School in Cranston, RI for three years, also serving as the Assistant Principal of that same school for the three years prior. Before becoming an administrator, she taught at the middle level in Providence for 11 years. Jenny holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, a Master's Degree in Administration from the University of Rhode Island, a Master's Degree in Arts and Teaching from Rhode Island College and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, also from Rhode Island College.
Kirk Downing Most recently, Kirk has been serving as Interim Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation here in Natick. Prior to that, he was Principal of the Brown Elementary School in Natick (7/10 - 6/18), and Principal of the Chickering Elementary School in Dover (7/07 - 6/10). Prior to becoming an administrator, he taught preschool, and grades 1-5 in Colorado. Kirk holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Bachelor's Degree in History, also from the University
of Colorado, Boulder.
Tricia Clifford Tricia is in her 8th year as Principal of the Burbank Elementary School in Belmont. Previously, Tricia was Assistant Principal of the Pine Hill School in Sherborn from 2009-2011, and of the Norman E. Day Elementary School in Westford from 1999 - 2002. She began her career teaching at the middle level in Maine, then Wayland. Tricia holds a Doctor of Education in Language Arts and Literacy from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a Master's Degree in School Administration from Boston College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maine at Farmington.
