Welcome to the
Natick Public School System
2015 – 2016 School Year
It is with great pleasure and modesty that I welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year. I am extremely proud that the Natick Public Schools continues to outdistance many others in this state. This is because our school committee, staff, and community have all done a remarkable job of supporting our students through setting high expectations. Recently the Natick Public Schools received the following accolades:
• Newsweek Magazine listed Natick High School on its list of the top public high schools in America for 2015.
• Boston Magazine placed the Natick Public Schools in the top 50 of the best public schools in Boston 2015.
This new school year presents opportunities for new beginnings; new technologies, and new courses. We are all proud of our past achievements and we are ready to build on their success. I would like to highlight the following initiatives and accomplishments, which will allow us to do our exceptional job even better:
Because of careful budgeting, planning, and a commitment by the Town we have been able to maintain our most valuable asset … our staff. For the 2015 – 2016 school year, we have increased our staff by nine much-needed members to address our rapidly rising student population.
The 1:1 program for 8th to 12th graders who can take advantage of having their own laptop computer enters its fourth year. Additional online classes have been added to our curriculum offerings. At the elementary level, we enter our second year of having five iPads in every K-4 classroom. Our belief is that technology in the hands of a well-trained teacher can produce unprecedented levels of student achievement.
