Though summer always seems to move too fast, the prospect of a new year is so very exciting!  We are looking forward to welcoming our Lilja Lions this week!

As we get ready for another great year, here are a few reminders about the opening of school:

  • Lilja School has new hours!  The school day begins at 8:30 AM and dismissal is now at 2:56 PM.
  • On Wednesday, August 31st, students in Grades 1-4 should report to the hardtop where their teacher(s) will greet them. In the event that it rains, students should go to the gymnasium.
  • Families can find information about arrivals and dismissals at Lilja School by clicking here: Lilja Arrival & Dismissal Procedures.
  • Wednesday, August 31st is a full day of school for students in Grades 1-4 only.  Kindergarteners have a modified start to the school day. Please follow this link for details.
  • Curriculum Night is scheduled on September 14th and 15th. The schedule for the evening will be posted later this week.
  • The first full day of Kindergarten is Friday, September 2nd.
  • Families looking for school supply lists should know that we provide what students need; your child's teacher will communicate directly with you about this. However, all students should come to school with a backpack and a lunchpack. Also, kindergarten students should bring a rest mat.

The mission of Lilja School is to create a supportive, inclusive community that inspires everyone to be learners, reach their full potential, and become respectful, empowered citizens.

At Lilja, we value respect, responsibility, kindness, and engaged learning.
