Memorial College Day is BACK December 23, 2015

On Wednesday, December 23, 2015, third and fourth grade students at Memorial Elementary school will be going to college! This will be our fifth year having College Day. The morning of December 23, 2015, our students will attend two classes, taught by Memorial “professors”, which they have preregistered for. After a rigorous morning, our third and fourth grade students will be in the “college cafeteria” having lunch and listening to a presentation about expectations for college students. It is never too early to set the expectation of going to college and setting a goal for our students.

At lunch we are inviting brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbors, or friends of Memorial students, who are currently attending college, to join our third and fourth grade students for an informal conversation about being a student in college. Lunch will be from 12:40 – 1:30 p.m.

I am hopeful families of Memorial students will ask college students (siblings, neighbors, relatives) if they could help out. I would encourage the college students to arrive at Memorial at 12:20 so I can meet with them about the day and expectations at lunch. Hopefully they will wear their college apparel. My goal is to have one college student per lunch table.

Every student and faculty member at Memorial?is encouraged to wear their favorite college sweatshirt or apparel to be a part of our college campus.

Please email me (mjoseph@natickps.org) if you have any questions or have the name of a college student who is willing to come to our campus on that day to support our students.
