Progress Report

This page gives a brief synopsis of the progress on the building project.

  • Jan 2009 - Administration is working on the enrollment projections and educational program. This data will be merged into the updated feasibility study.

  • Dec 2008 - The NHSBC negotiations for the financial portion of the contract with R. F. Walsh Project Management to cover the feasibility study which is the first phase of the project. R. F. Walsh has begun the review portion of the study work.

  • Oct 2008 - The Owners Project Management firm was approved by MSBA on September 26, 2008. The NHSBC began negotiating a contract with R. F. Walsh Project Management to cover the feasibility study which is the first phase of the project.

  • Sept 2008 - Representatives from Natick and the Owners Project Management firm appeared before the MSBA OPM Review Board. The board interviewed the parties and will provide Natick with a decision on the OPM. We can then begin to negotiate a contract and begin the planning phase of the project.

  • Aug 2008 - The Procurement Administrator worked with the NHSBC to "short list" the respondents to the RFS. The NHSBC interviewed the finalists and selected a preferred firm. That firm's application was forwarded to the MSBA.

  • July 2008 - The NHSBC developed the Request for Services (RFS), received approval and advertised for an OPM. The Natick School Committee appoints a Procurement Administrator.

  • June 2008 - The MSBA advises Natick to begin the Owners Project Manager (OPM) search.

  • May 2008 - Town Meeting approves the request for $250,000 for feasibility study.

  • Mar 2008 - Natick Public Schools files demographic data, data on housing starts and member list of the Natick High School Building Committee (NHSBC) to MSBA for its review.

  • Fall 2007 - MSBA reduces projects for further consideration to 49 with Natick High School as one of them. Jan. 2008 Representatives of the Town of Natick and the Natick Public Schools meet with MSBA officials. MSBA recommends that the town of Natick provide funding for a feasibility study in the amount of $250,000.

  • Aug 2007 - MSBA team visits Natick High School

  • July 2007 - School districts file 423 statements of interest to the MSBA representing 162 school districts including Natick
