Natick Public Schools received an A-plus rating and ranked 20th in Niche’s 2022 list of the best school districts in the state of Massachusetts. The survey includes nearly 10,000 schools and districts and is based on statistics and opinions from students and parents.

Natick High School was ranked among the 50 best high schools in the state, coming in at No. 31. 

"Natick Public Schools prides itself on its personalized learning and attention to individualized student needs,” said Superintendent Dr. Anna Nolin. “Our team provides competitive coursework and access to a trusted adult, the arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities that supplement in-classroom enrichment. All of this aids in ensuring all our students achieve our Profile of a Graduate."

With more than 5,300 students, NPS is one of the Town of Natick’s largest employers and serves as the Town’s largest transportation provider, largest athletics provider, largest summer academic enrichment provider, largest health service provider, largest food service provider, largest before and after-school provider, largest arts programming provider, and the largest mental health servicer. 

NPS transports more than 3,000 bus riders and had more than 1,100 students enrolled in its 2021 summer learning and extended school year programs. More than 1,500 students participate in athletics, and 636 students participate in arts programming. NPS provides before and after-school services to almost 800 students and serves more than 500,000 meals each year. 

NPS’ district-wide health services team manages the district’s COVID-19 response and protocols, in addition to, conducting state-mandated screenings, managing students with Type 1 diabetes, asthma, and life-threatening food allergies, administering daily medications, and coordinating medical care for students with 504 accommodations and Health Care Plans. 

Natick has a 12.8 student-to-teacher ratio and spends $16,393 per pupil, highlighted in the district’s annual performance report. The district has a graduation rate of 97 percent, and 82 percent of students attend post-secondary schools. Nearly 60 languages are spoken by district students, and more than 90 percent of students participate in an arts course.

Niche’s ranking is based on rigorous analysis of academic and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users. The same methodology is used to produce the Overall Niche Grade for each ranked school as well as additional schools. Statistics obtained from the U.S. Department of Education represent the most recent data available, as self-reported by the schools.
