Dear Families,
We are busy preparing for the return to school. To this end, the school committee and board of health has worked with me to create a safe return to school. The safety updates are included in our Return to School Handbook. This document includes our updated masking policy (School Committee vote 8/16, Natick Board of Health vote 8/9) and all other classroom updates for a safe return to school.
Specific, early details about the Department of Education's comprehensive testing program which includes on site school testing for symptomatic children and staff, those who may have been exposed/direct close contacts with those infected with COVID and routine COVID pooled testing are also included (slides 7-11).
In order to make sure your child can stay in school and miss the least amount of school, we ask that you fill out the consent for COVID testing that will be in your PowerSchool parent sign off forms which will be open to you in the coming week. Last year, any extra curricular activity required pooled testing consent per the Board of Health and I expect that requirement to return. Please sign up now--one sign up for all three types of testing.
The testing program works so that you do not have to have your child at home quarantining unless they have the COVID. It also minimizes your need to run to do outside COVID testing.
Need more information? Join me for an information session where I can answer your questions about the return to school and our testing program. The testing program works so that you do not have to have your child at home quarantining unless they have the COVID. It also minimizes your need to run to do outside COVID testing.
Information sessions
The same session will run on two days. See below for links for the day that works for your family schedule.
